Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Impact and Support: Empowering School Nurses to Champion Students and Families

This webinar is an opportunity for school nurses to develop an understanding of how fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) can impact an individual throughout their life and school, as well as develop tools and skills to support other school-based professionals in working with students and families impacted by FASD.

SPEAKERS

Kelly Dietrich, M.A. is a DrPH candidate specializing in substance use and misuse with a master's degree in educational psychology with a concentration in developmental disorders and school psychology. Kelly has worked for three years in prevention education for substance use and fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.

Antisha L. Meisner is a dynamic Mental Health Coach, a New Jersey licensed classroom teacher, and a retired, disabled United States Marine Corps veteran. As a visionary entrepreneur, Antisha is the proud owner of both Antisha Inspired Design Co, LLC and Dark Horse Publishing Company, LLC. With a compelling blend of compassion, discipline, and resilience, they empower others to overcome challenges, achieve personal growth, and embrace their unique strengths in a world they passionately strive to improve.

Barbara Uwuimwonse, DNP, FNP-C, CSN is a nursing professional with seven years of acute care and outpatient clinical experience caring for adults, adolescents, and pediatric patients. She has a reputable history of delivering patient-centered care, with comprehensive knowledge and understanding of acute bedside, community health, mental health, and school health nursing. Dr. Barbie received her DNP-FNP degree from Rutgers School of Nursing in May of 2023 and currently works in both the school and hospital settings.

Target Audience: School nurses

Learning Outcome: At the conclusion of the program, the participants will self-report an increase in knowledge related to fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.

Continuing Nursing Education Contact Hours: This program has been awarded 1.5 contact hours.
