From Treating to Healing: An Introduction to Trauma-Informed Care

Experiencing trauma can have a long-lasting effect on both physical and mental health. This webinar, the first in a series of three, will review the scope and types of trauma and how they intersect with health and healthcare for women and birthing people. It will introduce the learner to the concepts of trauma-informed care (TIC), the basic principles of delivery of TIC and the benefits of incorporating TIC in various systems, and include the role of cultural humility.
Target Audience: Doulas, nurses, community health workers, and other healthcare professionals supporting perinatal patients
Learning Outcome: Upon completion of this program, participants will self-report an increase in knowledge related to trauma-informed care and the benefits of incorporating trauma-informed care into practice.
