Natalie E. Roche, MD is the Director of the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Health at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and is faculty in the Addiction Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Roche is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Addictions Medicine.
Margaret B. Rizzo has been employed with JSAS HealthCare, Inc. in various positions since 1991 and currently serves as the agency’s Executive Director. Ms. Rizzo has served as chairperson of the Monmouth County Office of Addiction Services’ Treatment Planning Committee and as a member of the Monmouth County Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services’ Professional Advisory Committee.
Primary and secondary syphilis rates among people of childbearing age continue to rise in New Jersey, leading to high rates of congenital syphilis. For pregnant people seeking treatment for substance use disorder, linkage to prenatal care and testing for syphilis are key interventions to decrease congenital syphilis. This webinar will explore best practices in the coordination of care among maternal health care providers and substance use treatment services.
Target Audience: Nurses, physicians, and other professionals in the healthcare setting
Learning Outcome: At the conclusion of the program, participants will self-report increased knowledge of best practices in the coordination of care for pregnant people using substances as it relates to congenital syphilis prevention.
Successful Completion: To receive contact hours for participating in the continuing education program, the registrant must join the webinar, view the entire presentation, and complete and submit an electronic evaluation. A certificate of completion will be distributed within two weeks of submission of the evaluation.
